I loved the quality of this STEM toy. It is very comparable to LEGO. My son is going to complete 8 soon and I wasn’t sure if he will love LEGO Technic but this is a great and affordable alternative.
I feel it is going to be quite tricky for my son to build it on his own but I am sure it will be a great learning experience to build this thing. And given that Christmas is on the door, we will spent a lot of time indoor and this would be our main thing to do.
Overall, I am happy with the quality of this toy and given the the price point, it is a good deal. Recommended.
I just recently started getting into building toys because it is therapeutic and fun. Although at times the instructions were a bit confusing, I will say I had loads of fun putting this one together! When I got the robot moving, I was all laughs...it was genuinely fun...i definitely recommend this to anyone into building toys or anyone who just wants something relaxing to do. Well worth the price for the amount of enjoyment you will get. :)
I received it earlier than expected, my child loved this birthday gift!
Got this for my 9yo son and he loved it! It's a pretty good likeness of a certain Pixar garbage disposal robot with lots of nice details. I particularly like the fibre optics that go from the battery pack to the eyes to make them light up. The build is challenging enough to be fun without becoming frustrating, and the fact that you can make 6 different models from the set is a great bonus.
My only criticism is the remote control. First off this thing moves at quite a pace, and it would be nice to be able to dial back the speed a bit to make it easier to control. The remote is digital rather than analog, so pushing the sticks is an all-or-nothing affair (ie you can't just push the stick a little bit to go slower - it's either full speed or stop). In addition, the 2 sticks just make each track go either forwards or backwards, so to turn you have to stop one track while moving the other, or move each track in opposite directions to spin on the spot. This control scheme combined with how quickly the thing moves make moving in a continuous path difficult - it ends up being more 'move forward - stop - turn - move forward - stop - turn' etc. I tried using the app, but it was pretty baffling and didn't have any instructions. This is a minor criticism though, and overall this is a really great set.
It's compatible with regular Lego too.
Really fun to build and an aboslute joy to have beside your computer when it's finished, this makes a really fun toy to play with or just to look at once it's built. I really love that it's customizable, and you can remote control it with your phone. I think it would make a great gift for anyone, and if you're looking into it, I think it would make a nice self care present as well. Definitely recommend.
