Purchased this Sillbird Remote Control Dragon Building Kit (515 Pieces) for our 8-year-old grandson. This is great for his building and creativity skills, as well as problem-solving, patience, and logical thinking. He loves these type of projects and is very good at them. This set is a bit challenging for him, but he is making progress. He is looking forward to trying it with the remote control feature. He is looking forward to using this with the remote control. Quality is good and he is able to follow along with the instructions well.
My 8 years old boy loves it. My son almost finish this project, he is continued working on it. I know it’s slow progress, but this is first project he works by himself. He told me this stem project makes him feel more successful, after he done this, he will uses voice to control it, he feels exciting. I am so glad I bought this, good quality, if there are different kinds, I will buy it again!
Cool toy my kid loves it! As much as I tried not to intervene, the challenge suitability is definitely set above 8+, if your or your child have been familiar with lego assembly for couple years, then you’ll find it amusing. Lots of moving mechanisms involved so it’s much better choice than one of those “display” lego projects.
My kids love dragons so I decided to give it a try. They love it! As soon as I open the package, they want to build it right away. They didn't know it could be remote controlled when building it, they thought it was just build a dragon and play with it. So when I put the batteries in the remote control, they went crazy about it! 2 AAA batteries not included in the set. I used rechargeable ones which I bought separately.
There is a heavy module block with rechargeable battery inside as the base of the build. This part has motors inside to make the dragon move. I read the manual and it said that it requires a USB port with 5V 1A output to charge the battery inside. Took me a while to find the correct port to do so.
My kids are 8 and 10 years old, with lots of experience playing the building blocks. They build this set together. They don't have any problem reading the instruction book. It took them 2 hours and 35 minutes to finish the build. When building, they didn't use up all of the previous bags for building. Instead, in the following steps, they need to open the next bag although there are still blocks to work with.
In step 18, they need to open bag 2.
In step 41, they need to open bag 3.
Step 51 and 52 are hard.
In step 62, they need to open bag 4.
In step 111, they need to open bag 5.
In step 177, they need to open bag 6.
When finishing building, they put attached stickers on to make it prettier. It can move forward, backward, turn right and turn left. Seeing it move is really a lot of fun!
I later also used a cellphone to scan the QR code in the instruction book, download the app, and use Bluetooth to connect to the dragon. The basic control works. But I don't like to let my kids use my cellphone for too long. So I guess I will let them play with the remote control unit instead of using my cellphone.
