First, this came sealed, which considering recent purchasing and mass flooding of products, says a LOT!

Contains all the parts needed to assemble and instructions to do so. I'll admit, I got this for myself (yea, I'm a nerd) but it became the perfect activity for my daughter and I to work on together.

While $60 does seem expensive, it is totally worth it!

This robot kit was a blast to build. First off, the instruction manual deserves real praise. It’s clear, detailed, and never left us guessing, even in steps involving a lot of smaller parts. We built model A, which I believe is the most complex version, yet the visuals made everything straightforward. The inclusion of “true size” reference points helps confirm you’re using the right pieces whenever there’s room for confusion. The bags, however, are not numbered or sorted in some clear fashion, so it helps to "pre-sort" the parts prior to starting. Otherwise, a lot of time will be spent looking through the bags looking for specific pieces (there are a lot of unique shapes).

The build quality is excellent. The pieces fit together with that satisfying click, and the included assembly and disassembly tool becomes especially useful toward the end. There were no missing parts, and there are plenty of spares (likely for the other build variations). Even the stickers appeared to be high quality.

Once built, it’s fun to control. Only the tracks move, while the arms and other parts are not motorized, but the smoke cannon is a great touch. The total build took us around five hours. In terms of difficulty, an eight-year-old would likely need some help, while a young teen would probably be able to complete it solo.

The companion app offers a surprising amount of customization and is very user-friendly, even for someone without a tech background. There’s a QR code on the box to download it. The robot’s sound effects can get a little annoying, but fortunately there’s a mute option.

So with all that said, I’m very impressed with this kit, especially for the price. It’s comparable in quality to brand-name sets and would make an excellent gift for anyone interested in building or coding.

This is such ana amazing kit. It really takes the building kits of my childhood to the next level. The assembly is fun and engaging for older kids. Even better that it becomes a functional robot. You can literally say you built a working robot. It's so educational and the play is so much more than just assembling a model that sits on a shelf. This would make an excellent gift. Recommend.
